ATO President Jennie Menzie and 2026 Annual Meeting Chair Bill McFadden highlight the value of education, peer exchange and industry collaboration for trust organizations
As trust organizations navigate rapid advances in technology, evolving client expectations, cybersecurity threats, artificial intelligence, talent challenges and increasingly complex investment and operational environments, the ability to learn from peers and industry experts has become increasingly important.
The Association of Trust Organizations (ATO), a national organization, is helping trust company executives navigate that change by creating opportunities for education, collaboration, and candid peer-to-peer exchange throughout the year.
“The trust industry is being reshaped by forces that no single organization can navigate alone,” said Jennie Menzie, President of the Association of Trust Organizations and Chairman, President and CEO of Cumberland Trust. “ATO exists to make sure companies are not figuring it out in isolation. When you bring together experienced professionals who are willing to share what they are seeing and what they are doing about it, everyone gets better. That is what ATO is built around.”
Through its Annual Meeting, virtual Speaker Series, Peer Exchange discussions and other member initiatives, ATO brings together trust executives, fiduciary professionals, and industry subject matter experts to explore issues affecting trust organizations today while looking ahead to what may be coming next.
That mission will be on display at ATO’s 2026 Annual Meeting in Park City, Utah, September 21-23, chaired by Bill McFadden, President and CEO of GreenHill Investment Reporting.
“Assembling this year’s agenda has been a reminder of how much is competing for trust company leaders’ attention right now,” said McFadden. “Every conversation I have had with speakers, moderators and member firms in preparing for Park City has reinforced the same thing: the leaders navigating this environment best are the ones most connected to their peers. ATO creates that environment. I am proud to play a role in bringing it together this year.”
ATO’s value extends well beyond the Annual Meeting, with year-round opportunities for members to connect with peers, exchange ideas and hear from experts on emerging challenges.
